Eloelo has witnessed a remarkable 200 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth, fueled by a strategic blend of organic user traction and targeted marketing initiatives. This success is anchored on three core pillars: 1. Regional Expansion Beyond Hindi-Speaking Markets: Recognizing the diversity of India, we’ve focused on growing our presence in non-Hindi-speaking regions such as Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, and most recently, Malayalam. Our marketing campaigns were customized to resonate with local audiences by collaborating with regional creators, ensuring that both content creation and consumption align with the preferences of these communities. This hyperlocal strategy has been pivotal in building deeper connections and expanding our user base organically. 2. Launched New Talent Categories to Unlock New Use Cases: We expanded into exciting new categories such as Singing, Dancing, and Astrology, which opened fresh use cases on the platform. These categories resonated deeply with our audience and also led to attracting new audiences, creating unique engagement opportunities, enhancing user interaction, and fostering the building of vibrant micro-communities around creators with niche talents. 3. Implemented a Monetization Strategy Built on Gratification to Drive Growth: Our monetization strategy was built on the concept of gratification. Users expressed appreciation and supported creators through virtual gifting and in-app purchases, fostering stronger connections and encouraging frequent engagement. Over the last 3-4 years, live streaming has grown rapidly, as both creators and users shift from polished, pre-recorded content on traditional platforms to real-time, unfiltered engagement. This shift has made live streaming essential for creators looking to foster deeper, more personal connections with their communities.
Every month, over 150,000 creators go live on Eloelo. Many of these “Gen-II” creators, aged 18-27, prefer Eloelo for its local-language engagement and direct monetization opportunities through virtual gifting—something traditional platforms struggle to offer seamlessly. To empower these creators, we’ve introduced AI/AR tools, virtual backgrounds, and trust & safety features, ensuring their live sessions are interactive, immersive, and secure. Additionally, in-room engagement tools boost audience participation, driving stickiness and repeat interactions.
What are the brands plans to scale its Monthly Active Users (MAU) in the next 12 months?
The core strategy is to keep doubling down on what we are doing already since it is working well. You will see continued focus on vernacular creators, and innovative formats within the same form factor of live streaming.
We will also focus on use-case expansion with newer categories like Astrology, Singing, etc breaking out on the app. Additionally, we continue to enhance the platform with interactive tools, personalized live-streaming experiences, and gamified elements that lead to more sharing and hence, growth.
How are they tapping into regional content to drive user engagement and market growth?
At Eloelo, we harness the power of regional content to drive user engagement and market growth. By tapping into India’s rich linguistic diversity, we create localized experiences that truly resonate with our audience. When you combine local languages with the form factor of an interactive live stream, the output is special. People relate to streamers/ hosts who speak their language, communities tend to be formed and ultimately more avenues of monetization get unlocked. I’ll give you an example - A Bengali singer on the app who had also previously participated in Indian Idol, goes live daily and amassed lakhs of followers. She now earns close to 30,000 a month through virtual gifts, and battles with other streamers. And there are thousands of other vernacular streamers who are gaining distribution as well as meaningful monetization on Eloelo.
